KRISTINE DOUGHERTY
(flute) is the co-founder, director of and flutist with the Momentum Chamber
Ensemble. She has performed numerous solo and chamber music recitals throughout
New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Kristine has toured Europe, performed in Alice Tully Hall under the
direction of Kurt Masur, was a soloist in the Mannes College of Music Orchestra,
and has performed live on National Public Radio.
She has studied with Linda Chesis, Keith Underwood, Judith Mendenhall,
Philip Dunigan and Sandra Miller. She received her BM in flute performance from
the North Carolina School of the Arts and her MM in flute performance from the
Mannes College of Music.
KATHLEEN DOUGHERTY (horn) is co-founder and hornist with Momentum. She has performed on natural horn with Concert Royal, New York Grande Bande, 18th Century Ensemble, Centenary Festival Orchestra (The Big Gig, Richmond, VA), and Portland Baroque Orchestra (Oregon), including live National Public Radio broadcasts. Kathleen has also appeared as soloist on the valveless classical horn, and performs regularly with the baroque trumpet ensemble, “Clarino Consort”. She has performed on modern horn with the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Symphony of Long Island and numerous chamber ensembles. Kathleen has transcribed and arranged much of the music that is performed by Momentum. She plays an ambronze “Classical” Lawson horn.
